THE PRODIGY IN LA!!!

The Prodigy are one of the livest bands you will ever see. They are pioneers of Electronic Dance music and have been around since the early 90's. They first caught my eye in 97 when their sick ass video for "Breathe" was nominated for MTV's "Video of the Year." They came to LA on Wednesday for the first time in at least 4 years. And the bill was stacked with DESTRUCTO and The Glitch Mob opening the show.

The Prodigy have what a lot of new dance bands are lacking. A real live presence. There are two frontmen and 3 musicians on stage; Liam Howlett plays behind a wall of keyboards and beat machines, and is joined by a drummer and a bassist. Its a real fucking party. Dance music is dominated by DJs who bob their head as they hide behind computers. Which is stupid because the music they play is so live. We want to party with you guys. So give us something to dance about... like The Prodigy's super-hyped live shows.

Here is their new single, and an Herve remix, off their brand new album Invaders Must Die:

The Prodigy - Omen

The Prodigy - Omen (Herve End of the World Remix)

Since they didn't play any tracks from Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned here are some of my favorite tracks from that very underrated album:

The Prodigy - Spitfire (ft. Juliette Lewis)

The Prodigy - Girls (ft. Ping Pong Bitches)

The Prodigy - "Smack My Bitch Up" Live @ The Palladium 5/27 (Part I)
